After~Thot – That Look In Your Eyes / Lovesick Blues

After-thot doing their second set at CXCW2015, they tell us they are a singer-songwriter trio from northern California and that this is their man-hatin’ country song. Some nice pipes on this one. They tell us about the song:

We sat down one day and Danny started playing this riff so I decided I wanted to write a
Country song. This song is not about anyone in particular and my Dad has never owned a gun. We’re on our couch of hard knocks. Actually I’m on a table, Danny’s on the couch. We’re excited to announce we’re gettin’ ready to help Chico break the Guinness Book of World Record for longest concert by multiple artists on April 27th from 3PM to 7pm at the Tacklebox in Chico. We can only have 25 seconds between songs and only 5 min to set up, so this is a good warm up. My 9-year-old son Desmond gets to help. May 2nd we get the privilege of playing for our navy seals and top gun officers in Fallon, Nevada. We’re excited to have the opportunity to play for them and thank them for their service! We hope you enjoy our country song.

They also leave us with this cover of “Lovesick Blues” as made popular by Hank Williams. They explain:

This is our version of Emmett Millers 1923 hit lovesick blues song by our very talented band mate Garrett Fry from our living room. We’ve been an acoustic trio since 1/1/2015. Hope you enjoy our version.

  1. I wanted to thank you all again for welcoming us in your music festival.Danny and I have been a couple since April of 2013.We met a a karaoke bar,on 11/11/11.I was married then in a abusive relationship.I finally said enough is enough in February of 2013 I was with
Him since sept 1999 so I had been with him 1/2 my life which made it tough to leave.after I left my ex husband I ran into Danny again outside a different karaoke bar (btw neither of us drink ) & we’ve
been together since . We’ve had a rough start busking to eat etc. Were doing much better nowadays. The funny thing is we met Garrett at a completely different karaoke bar in a different town in December of last year and we’ve been a trio since then.
