Charming Disaster – Showgirl

Making their debut at CXCW, Charming Disaster from Brooklyn, New York, is a songwriting duo project by bandleaders Jeff Morris of Kotorino and Ellia Bisker of Sweet Soubrette. Here is what they tell us about their music:

features murder ballads and love songs involving death, crime, and the supernatural. If you enjoy romantic duets about murder, auto theft, ghosts, carnival performers, con artists, wild animals, or sinister administrative professionals, Charming Disaster will be right up your alley.

This song is the true story of Jeff’s great aunt who was a dancer in New York City in the late 20s, and a love triangle between her, her mobster boyfriend and a cop. We dig that mouth trumpet solo.

  1. Murder ballads & love songs…crime and death, nothing wrong with any of that. Plus they’re doing a Wed. night residency here in Bklyn throughout March. Sounds like I’ll be at Pete’s Candy Store tomorrow night.
