A beautiful song from Swords, of whom Tony Fitz tells us:
Swords are a three piece alternative band from Dublin. They blend guitars, synths, samples, drums, and piano hooks with Diane Anglim’s haunting and intimate vocals. The band introduced themselves in 2012 with the release of their EP Black Balloon and followed it up in 2013 with the Karl Odlum produced debut album Lions & Gold.
The first three singles from the album: ‘All the Boys,’ ‘Lions & Gold’ and ‘Buildings’ were play-listed by Phantom 105.2 and aired on RTE 2fm, Today FM in Ireland and BBC Radio 6, BBC Radio NI and Amazing Radio in the UK.
Swords began 2013 with a performance on Other Voices, and marked their album launch with a headline show in Whelan’s. They followed up with a performance at Electric Picnic – getting a ‘must see live’ recommendation from the The Irish Times. They finished their year with a live slot on The Works on RTE One TV, leading to a publishing deal with Smalltown America Music UK.
Translation: Swords are well-received on homeground. And you should receive them well, too.
