Jay Mabry – Easy Chair

This is Jay’s second time on the proverbial couch. You may have seen him earlier as part of Black Sheep Sam performing a cover of BRMC’s “Shuffle Your Feet.” Well, this time around the Louisa, Kentucky, native brings us an original entitled “Easy Chair.” Definitely dig this song.

  1. I really think this is a great original. Of course I am a tad bit bias but it definitely is worth giving it a listen. Jay is the next generation of Mabry’s to pass down a natural musical ability. His Dad (James Eddie) is an awesome guitar picker and when they play together, it is absolutely a great combo! Reaaly proud to say “that’s my boy”!!!

  3. Jay has a voice that swings from a near high-lonesome upper tenor sweetness than glides back down to a bluesy near baritone rowel in this song, and shapes it all by beating out a rhythmic repetition of the harmonic melody, all of which turns into its own back and forth rocking hypnotic beat; the kind of rhythm you might get from grooving and swinging in your own real life “easy chair” – great sound
