Jodi James and Clay Parker – No Pain (Cumberland Mill)

It’s very rare that an opening act will stop me in my tracks, but such is the case the first time I heard Baton Rouge’s Jodi James. She was opening for American Aquarium at one of our local venues, I was walking around, beer in hand, and she started singing. I had planned on bullshitting with other folks, but decided to take a seat and listen. So happy I did. She’s so damn talented. Sadly, I have not heard Clay Parker, also from Baton Rouge, up until watching this video, and that’s probably my fault. They, apparently, just started writing songs as a duo a few months ago, and if this is any indication where things are headed, I think we are all better for it.
