Michael Rank has been one of my favorite artists going on, well, a lot of years now. It all started when I first heard Silver by one of his earlier bands, Clarissa. I immediately fell in love. Oh, and it was followed up by Blood and Commons which is definitely in my top ten favorite records of the 90’s. Sadly, I lost touch with what he was up to, then bam like 2 or 3 years ago, his music is back in my life. He’s released three of my favorite records from the past few years, Deadstock, Mermaids, and In the Weeds. I cannot recommend every single piece of his catalog enough. Also, be on the look out for another Michael Rank and Stag record called Hull this summer.
