Paul Saint John, the jolly Scotsman by way of Philadelphia, returns to CXCW this year with “Struck Down in December,” a song he recently wrote while driving east across Pennsylvania. For those who have endured such a trek, they know the grueling monotony of the state’s ups and downs, mountain tunnels and treed nothingness. Inspired by such locales, Paul penned “Struck Down in December” as a nod to Pennsylvania’s tectonic landforms.
In addition to performing at CXCW, Paul has an upcoming showcase at Cape May, New Jersey’s singer/songwriter festival later this month and will perform at the New Jersey Folk Festival in late April. In between, he plans to release his next single, “The Great North Road.”
