The Splinters out of Boston have a set of bluegrass traditionals for us, pulled out at the last minute.
About the Splinters:
Chris Reckling (guitar) was born in Texas, grew up in Arizona, and migrated to Boston to study Jazz and guitar. There he met J Johnson (mandolin), from Cleveland, he of the punk, new wave band, Unction. Having played jazz and rock together for years and then folk for a time, they decided to explore bluegrass fiddle tunes and then the classic bluegrass songs of love, life, death, anguish, longing, drinking, desolation, death again, cheatin’, lyin’, and heartbreak.
